The premier event for small businesses in the UK, the Growing Your Own Business Exhibition & Conference at Birmingham’s NEC on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 October 2007, will provide all the expertise entrepreneurs need to help increase their business potential.

The conference will feature a number of high profile keynote speakers, well-known business owners and experts on the issues that entrepreneurs face while developing their business.

Speakers on Friday 5 October include Tristram Mayhew, entrepreneur behind the award-winning eco-educational experience, Go Ape, the high wire forest adventure course company. He will present the opening address at 10:30am entitled: “Taking the leap: from entrepreneur to business leader.” Tristram will recall his exhilarating rise to building a thriving business, offering experiences of rope bridges, Tarzan swings and zip slides 40 feet up in the trees. From 11:15-11:45, Peter Tye, franchise development manager for Goodyear Dunlop Tyers UK, will present a seminar entitled: “Transforming your business into a franchise.” At 12:15, Richard Eagleton, Director of BXL Limited, the business growth consultancy, will present a seminar titled: “Strategies for business success.”

Speaking on Saturday 6 October from 11:15-11:45am will be David Tonchin, director of Franchise Your Business, presenting a seminar titled: “Establishing your business as a franchise”. David, a qualified engineer, has extensive business and operational experience in distributor networks and franchising. Previously, as marketing controller at Dairy Crest, David designed, planned and implemented the milk industry's largest business format franchise conversion programme with more than 1,600 franchisees recruited in 3 years.
