On leaving school Guy joined the Army. Leaving at just 26 years of age to join Volkswagen Group he had reached the rank of Captain and had led teams of up to 140 people.

At VW he was employed in a number of operational roles where he had responsibility for developing the capabilities of dealers, working with them to improve their quality, revenues and profits. His final role was as Head of Operations at Skoda, responsible for the performance of 120 dealers.

Guy also spent 3 years as Head of Planning for Volkswagen responsible for the strategic planning of the car brand, helping to double volumes while increasing profitability. In his time at Volkswagen Group he was also an adviser to Volkswagen AG worldwide Supply & Logistics strategy panel, and a Non-Executive Director of an Audi Dealership.

In 2001 Guy joined Quadrangle a strategy consultancy where he worked with a range of automotive clients including Audi, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, Fiat, General Motors, Land Rover, RAC and the BAR Honda Formula 1 Team. While there he was also Project Director for the cross sector project that developed a set of Leadership Management Standards that underpinned qualifications for Dealer Managers.

Guy moved to Courland Automotive Practice LLP in 2004 a £1m turnover automotive specialist executive search firm where he was UK Managing Director. Helping business leaders find and select leaders, he recruited Global CEOs through to department managers with clients as diverse as JCB, Lex Vehicle Leasing and BEN, the automotive charity.

Guy set up his own business, Landon Consulting in 2007 specialising in leadership assessment and selection and in 2009 went into partnership with The Blue Water Partnership an award winning coaching, training and development provider. Marketed under the Blue Water brand their "Recruit, Assess, Develop and Perform" platform enables them to provide a full service leadership offer.

Guy has over 25 years of working with, for and running SME's and has specialist expertise and knowledge in leadership, understanding what makes great leaders and how they achieve results.
